Venice - Day 3

Today we decided to go in to the heart of Venice. The weather was warm and sunny so i decided my outfit today should be a long black top with Masquerade on it with a pair of shorts. I thought it would fit in with the Venice theme.


For my breakfast i decided to get a small bowl of cornflakes, ques-ant and a small glass of orange juice.

Once we had finished are breakfast we headed for the bus that took us into one of the island of Venice. It only took 10 minutes to get there as well so we didn't have to travel for a long time. 

While we were on the bus we could see the ships that we will be docking tomorrow. The ships looked huge! Sarah was rather excited and couldn't wait to get on one. Once we got of the bus we decided we would have a walk round Venice and look at the different type of stalls and shops.

As you can see in this picture they don't use roads they use boats or gondolas to get around to shops or houses. Before i left for Venice i kept getting told that  Venice smelt because of all the water and I would like to say that it doesn't smell at all well unless you go near the sewage but that smell were ever you go.

Sarah was a bit hungry at about now and she had a thing about having chicken nuggets but it was really hard to find some in Venice but we found a Burger King and decided to sit there and  have something to eat. We wanted some ice cream and they told us the machine was broke and in the kids meal they ran out of toys.

   

Most of the shops window looked like this. The cakes shops looked really nice! The shops that sold the masquerade mask were really fancy also!

Because we couldn't get an ice cream from burger king we got one from one of the other shops and most of the shops sold it and it was really nice and so many flavors to choose out of. I just decided to get a vanilla one.

This is the Mask i got. We got it down to 20 Euros from 35 Euros and got them to chuck in the cat mask for free so Sarah could make her own. 

I also bought this mask for my best-friend Sammeh i thought she would love it and she did! She said she really wanted one from Venice as well but i didn't know that at the time i just thought it would be a nice give to get her a few little things from some of the country's i went to. I got my other mates something from Venice as well but i wont post them because i still haven't given them theirs and don't want to spoil the surprise.

After a bit of browsing the shops we decided to have a little sit down and a nice cold drink.
On the left is a Sex On The Beach, the middle A White Russian and on the right A Bloody Mary.
They were really nice! But i wasn't keen on the white Russian that one was a bit strong to me and tasted like coffee. They all tasted very strong so i don't think the even used measures for the alcohol they just poured it in.

A few pictures of us just having a sit down and a drink. We thought it would be funny if we got Sarah looking like she was drinking my cocktail so we had her hold the glass and put the straw in her mouth and told her not to drink any because it was dirty alcohol but as usual she didn't listen and took a little sip and regretted it after wards her face after it was so funny and she said it tasted yucky, so i don't think she will be having a taste of my drink again XD.

I thought i would take a picture of streets so you could have an idea of what it would of looked like.

As we were walking around we saw a few street performers and thought it would be nice to get a picture of Sarah with them. The picture on the left is of a man who was sprayed with gold paint and a suit he pretend to be a statue so when Sarah walked past and he moved she jumped a little. But he must of been boiling in the outfit. The picture on the right is of a women all dressed up like she was in a masquerade ball.

Here is another street performer we found he was dressed as Hardy out of the old black and white show called Laurel and Hardy. I used to watch the show when i was a little girl and i loved it so i may see if Sarah would watch it and see if she would like it as much as i did. But Sarah was afraid of this guy and didn't want a picture with him so i decided i would get a picture with him instead XD. After i got a picture with him he asked me for a kiss i nicely declined the offer aha.

After we couldn't find any more performers we decided to go and have a look at some of the stalls and i found a stall that had hand made dresses and i loved this dress so i really wanted it. And i got it for 20 Euros from 28 Euros

I decided before i went away i wanted to get a charm for my bracelet from every country i went to. And i picked this one from Venice because of the mask.

After shopping we decided to go on a gondola i was terrified! But least now i can say ive been on one. After we got of the gondola we decided we would get the bus back to the hotel we had been out all day and it was getting to tea time and Sarah was getting tired, But we walked to far into Venice at this point and didn't know where we were, all the streets looked the same, all the bridges we crossed looked the same so it took us about an hour to find are way back to the bus stop.

But before we got on the bus i got Sarah this cute little fridge magnet of a cat mask and it only cost me 1 Euro.

We then got on the bus and we asked the driver did he go to the street are hotel was on and the driver told us we were on the wrong bus and pointed out the bus we needed to get on. We got on the bus the driver pointed out and we were on the bus for about 40 minutes until it came to the last stop. We were confused and didn't even know where we were. So we asked the driver and turns out the first bus we got on was the right bus. So now we had to get a taxi back to are hotel.

After are little rest at the hotel we got ready to go out for something to eat but before that i promised Sarah she could go on the rides again.

We found a nice little pub to eat at for are tea I had a brochette and some chips and Sarah had a selection of cheese sandwiches, she didn't really like them so after i had finished i got her some chicken nuggets to take out and got some profiteroles and pineapple slices to take away for dessert.
It had been a long day and we were all tired and had to get up early to go to the boat tomorrow. Day 4 Boarding the ship
